Add-ons, Extensions, and Apps...Oh My!
Level: Novice to Intermediate
Objective: To learn what add-ons, extensions, and apps are, where to find them, and how to use them in G Suite.
Description: This novice level workshop will focus on add-ons, extensions, and apps available through G Suite, the new version of Google Applications. Participants will learn the difference between each tool, where to access them, and how to use some of the common tools.
Examples of add-ons are the table and table of content formatter in Docs or g(Math) for Docs and Sheets.
Examples of extensions are url shortener, Mail Checker, and Screencastify.
Examples of apps are Cast for Education, Padlet, Powtoon, and more.
Leveraging the power of G Suite and its numerous free tools helps increase my productivity and utilization of G Suite.
Advice for Implementation: Be willing to take a risk in using these tools! Having the willingness to experiment or play with new tools will help you better understand how they can impact your practice.
