A Global Perspective: Internet Research Part 3
Objective: Participants will gain a global perspective through the conducting Internet research.
Description: When using Google, Yahoo, and Bing you are limiting yourself to information generated in the United States and Canada. For Example: When you search for the word “harbor” in Google you just eliminated all the sites containing “harbour”. Then there are the words Jail and Gaol. How can we get all English material regardless of which dialect it is published in? How can we get the British perspective? There are search tools and Google operators that will aid in searches. Upon completing this workshop participants will leave with a greater global perspective through the conducting Internet research.
Advice for Implementation: When you currently search in Google, if there is a British equivalent to that term search for that word also.
